Following on from our very successful fishing trip, we thought we’d reward the Soundhouse chaps for all their hard work, with another mystery treat.

Time and time again we hear about other companies who take a ‘cookie cutter’ approach to loft builds; a conveyor-belt of jobs that follow the same template, in order to reduce costs and move onto the next one quickly.

It feels like a world away now, but back in September we had an afternoon sea fishing off of Brighton Marina, as a big thank you to our amazing, hardworking Soundhouse team.

Latest Homes took a look at a beautiful new Soundhouse loft conversion in Seven Dials and an airy modern extension in Rugby Road, two projects that have been recently completed.

Soundhouse have appeared in the pages of Latest Homes regularly over the years and they are always impressed with the quality of our work and the level of service we offer.

We’re delighted to report that Soundhouse are a finalist in the South East LABC Building Excellence Awards 2014, for Best Local Builder or Traditional Craftsmanship.

I’ve heard that other companies like to sell themselves on speed, saying that they can do the job quicker than anyone else. On the face of it, this may seem appealing; after all, it’s natural to want to minimise the disruption that building works can cause in your home. But at the risk of stating the obvious, I would always advise anyone to value ‘quality of work’ over speed, every time, it takes a little more time to do things thoughtfully.
